Katie Goodson joined the firm in 2005 after receiving her Juris Doctorate and Bachelor of Civil Law from the Paul M. Hebert Law School at Louisiana State University that same year. Ms. Goodson graduated cum laude from Louisiana State University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Her primary areas of practice include regulatory matters, insurance defense, medical malpractice, and commercial litigation. She works with numerous regulatory and administrative bodies across the state, including the Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control, the Department of Revenue, Departments of Public Works, and Planning Commissions. Her regulatory work with the ATC encompasses all phases of alcohol and tobacco licensing compliance. She is a member of the National Association of Alcoholic Beverage Licensing Attorneys.
Notable representative matters have included, among others, the following
Ms. Goodson is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts, the United States District Courts for the Middle, Eastern, and Western Districts, and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a member of the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel and the Defense Research Institute. Ms. Goodson is a member of First United Methodist Church, where she serves on the Children's Council. She is also a member ofthe Junior League of Baton Rouge and volunteers with Cancer Services of Baton Rouge and the Louisiana Arts and Science Museum. She has also served as the firm coordinator of various Baton Rouge Bar Association programs.
