Taylor Porter Partner Katia Bowman has been accepted into the 2021 spring session of the Baton Rouge Business Report Executive Leadership Academy. The Business Report started the academy four years ago with the goal of helping executives, manager level employees, and entrepreneurs broaden their leadership skills. The academy has graduated more than 200 people, and they represent more than 125 companies in South Louisiana— from family businesses and public companies to nonprofits and startups.
Bowman joins fellow Taylor Porter attorneys Bob Barton, David Shelby, and Blue Loupe as program participants.
Bowman practices in general tort defense litigation and business immigration law. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). She advises U.S. employers regarding compliance with the employment eligibility verification process (Form I-9 process). She also advises employers of foreign workers on the employment-based visa petition process (EB visa categories). Bowman is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, Baton Rouge Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, and Defense Research Institute. In 2016, she was named among the "Top Forty Under 40" by the Baton Rouge Business Report. Within Taylor Porter, Bowman formerly said as the Diversity Committee Chair. She serves as a member of the Diversity Committee of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC). She has served on the DRI Planning Committee for the Annual Diversity for Success Seminar and Expo.
