Taylor Porter Partner Mike Crawford has been elected Secretary and to the Executive Committee of the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank Board of Directors. The local Food Bank has 120 agencies and serves the 11 parishes that surround and include East Baton Rouge. Through these agencies, and in 2020, the Food distributed 13.6 million meals; donated 4.9 million pounds during the pandemic response; and secured 8,579 total volunteers, working a total of 36,557 hours.
Through years of board service, financial assistance, food drives held at the office, and volunteerism at the warehouse, Taylor Porter has been a longtime supporter of the local Food Bank's efforts.
At Taylor Porter, Crawford practices in bankruptcy law and corporate reorganizations, bankruptcy mediation, and commercial litigation. He represents clients across a wide scope of industries, including oil and gas, environmental/energy, manufacturing, health care, gaming, and media and entertainment companies. He is ranked by Chambers USA and Best Lawyers in America®, and Crawford has been ranked “Lawyer of the Year” in Baton Rouge in Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law.
In 2009, Crawford had the honor of being inducted into the Special Olympics Louisiana Hall of Fame, following his 15 years of service, first as a volunteer and then nine years as a board member and former board chair.
Crawford received his J.D. from LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 1993; his M.B.A. from Louisiana Tech University in 1988; and his B.S. in Business Administration from LSU in 1984.
